Club Overview

For nearly 60 years, the BAE Systems Model Aircraft Club has been committed to supporting and developing the interest in radio controlled model aircraft at the Warton and Samlesbury sites.

The club caters for all disciplines in the world of RC model Aircraft:

Powered fixed wing – I.C. and Electric

Gliding – flat field and slope soaring

Helicopter – scale and 3D

Multi-rotor – FPV & AV drones

The club also promotes achievements in the BMFA proficiency scheme and is able to provide tuition on the club trainer aircraft and examine flyers for both the BMFA A and B Certificates standards for Fixed and Rotary wing aircraft. (Info on these can be found on the Learn to Fly page.)

New members are always welcome.

The Huntley’s flying site is accessible most days, with members usually present (weather permitting) on Wednesday & Friday afternoons and Sunday mornings.  Members can often also be found flying at lunchtimes during the week.
